According to the *Mirror*, Manchester United are considering a summer move for Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde, who has reportedly been pushed to the brink of leaving the club following a training ground altercation.
The incident saw Valverde clash violently with teammate Aurélien Tchouaméni during a session, resulting in a concussion that required hospital treatment and will sideline Tchouaméni for the remainder of the season. Valverde, who serves as Real Madrid’s vice-captain, has issued a public apology, but the club’s hierarchy remains furious and is now open to selling him this summer.
Complicating matters, the majority of Real Madrid’s first-team squad have sided with Tchouaméni, urging the club to offload Valverde before the new campaign.
Manchester United are closely monitoring the situation. The Red Devils are in urgent need of midfield reinforcements this summer and had initially shown interest in Tchouaméni. However, the Frenchman is unwilling to leave Real Madrid, having received strong support from both the club and his teammates.
It remains unclear whether Valverde himself would be open to a move to Old Trafford. His contract with Real Madrid runs until 2029, meaning any transfer fee would be substantial.
United plan to bring in two top-class midfielders this summer, with Casemiro set to depart at the end of the season and Manuel Ugarte also potentially up for sale. The club’s shortlist includes Anderson, Baleba, Wharton, Tchouaméni, and now Valverde.
